Made the PCB for a very demanding ultrasound scanner. The system is used for realtime analysis of blood flow in 3D to make it possible to for example detect heart problems. The system is made up of 64 PCB cards, each containing 5 virtex4 FPGA’s. The system is able to sample and analyze 140 GB/s of data. The PCB is a 20 layer design with several 3 Gb/s buses, 8 DDR2 SDRAM sockets, 16 ADC channels and 16 DAC channels, each with a sample frequency of 70MHz. The PCB was made in Allegro 15.7 |
