Porting and improvement of ARM7 platform. Redesign of sound system for lower footprint and faster code. Bluetooth implementation.

Jan is a very amicable and professional guy. He has good analytical skills and an excellent working background with lots of experience in many areas (hw/sw). This helps him to solve tasks very effectively and in a professional way. As a sw-developer I will not hesitate to recommend Jan. As a hw-developer I have no basis.

October 2006 – March 2007 ( 6 months)

Made the PCB for a very demanding ultrasound scanner. The system is used for realtime analysis of blood flow in 3D to make it possible to for example detect heart problems. The system is made up of 64 PCB cards, each containing 5 virtex4 FPGA’s. The system is able to sample and analyze 140 GB/s of data. The PCB is a 20 layer design with several 3 Gb/s buses, 8 DDR2 SDRAM sockets, 16 ADC channels and 16 DAC channels, each with a sample frequency of 70MHz. The PCB was made in Allegro 15.7

Developed the hardware for a gauge which is able to sample impulses from a photomultiplier tube and communicate the results over can-bus. The design includes an Atmel AT90CAN128 processor, precision DA conversion, precision high voltage generation, CAN-bus interface and pulse detection. Made in PADS.

June 2005 – October 2006 (1 year 5 months)

Participated in development, bug fixing and optimizing of the DRM (Digital Rights Management) implementation in all recent Sony Ericsson mobile phones, including W550i, W800i, K600i and K800i (in total around 150 variants). This implementation makes it possible for operators to apply usage constraints to content such as date/time limitations and copy protection. Have also been working with version control management (ClearCase).

With his sympathetic and humble attitude Jan makes it a pleasant to work with him. I have learned a lot from Jan since he always has been available whenever I wanted to ask him something. Jan is recommended cordially as colleague.

Bang & Olufsen A/S

beovision1.jpg

January 1997 – January 2000 (3 years 1 month)

Implemented various software parts of the BeoVision 1 TV. Wrote software to handle the mechanics of the DVD drive like open/close. Implemented many of the on-screen menus and underlying functionality. Made some optimizations to the teletext chip driver to limit the amount of data send on the i2c bus. Implemented API for Windows so the Beovision 1 software could be recompiled and executed on Windows. IR commands could be simulated and onscreen menu’s displayed in a window. The project was also used in other projects at Bang & Olufsen. Implemented software analysis tools that were able to analyze the Beovision 1 source code. Some Windows applications were developed to integrate it into Bang & Olfusens existing tools. Some of the analysis was done with custom built tools. PC-Lint was also used. The analysis was later implemented in all projects at Bang & Olufsen.
